our story…

Josh and I met in London in 2016 and fell in love over a shared sense of adventure and passion for all things travel.

After a few years, we decided to move back to New Zealand, and while travelling home via India we found out we were going to be parents.

The first year of motherhood was simultaneously amazing and hard. The world was basically shut down by the pandemic, and we were learning to be parents during these crazy times.

In 2022 the New Zealand borders finally reopened, and after getting back from an epic 10-day van trip we decided Josh would quit his job and we booked a one-way ticket to Asia. It sounds dramatic and impulsive, and it was.

We travelled for 5 months, celebrating Gaia’s second birthday in Malaysia, and Josh’s birthday in Thailand, but travelling full-time was exhausting. We were running out of money and missed having a base to return to (and the connections that come with having a home). So we booked a flight back to Auckland, Josh got a new job, and we agreed to continue having as many adventures as possible, while also having a home base back in New Zealand.

We’re now based in Auckland, and have local adventures every week, which I share on Instagram and TikTok. We share weekly vlogs of our New Zealand (and international) adventures on our YouTube channel - Good For Gaia - go check it out!
